Jinling Dragon World Music Band China is established in 2006 in Nanjing by famous Erhu musician Dong Jinming who was known as the first musician playing jazz with traditional Chinese musical instrument around the world, and his partner, well-known Yangqin player and educator Miss Zhou Daiyu. Many excellent musicians complete the band, such as young jazz pianist Feng Chao who is active in Jiangsu pop music stages, young saxophonist Wang Dianyu, the winner of National Youth saxophone playing contest and other young double bass players. 2008, two famous young musicians, the accordionist Paul Samuel Schmincke and violinist Sebastian Josef Brunnlechner from Germany, have been specially invited to join the band. The band has been invited to play at the Canada's International Jazz Festival in Vancouver in June, 2007 and for the "Germany Avenue", a series of communication activities co-organized by the Germany and Chinese government in October 2007 in Nanjing. The band plays wonderful arrangements of Chinese folk and jazz music and foreign countries. They are highly praised at each of their performances. 2009 November 25th to December 7th, the band added German multipercussionist Wolfram Dix and completed four extremely successful performances in Leipzig and Hamburg. Today, besides playing the adapted version of jazz and blues music derived from popular folk music from China and abroad, the band has also developed arrangements from Gypsy Music and integrated them into styles of Jazz Music.
